Word Space x Castle Cinema: Projections - Poems About the Movies.
Join us for an evening of poetry for film lovers (and poetry lovers). Freshly crafted words from some of the most exciting voices on London’s poetry scene inspired by all things cinematic.
Film-inspired, cinema-themed, movie-related, popcornly-metric poems of all kinds. Expect; Odes to Nicolas Cage, nostalgic treasures about that first whiff of buttery popcorn, embarrassing anecdotes of fumbling snogs on the back row, poetic deep dives into already deep sci-fi dives, and verses that reflect, twist and use cinematic forms to explore life on both sides of the big screen.
This is an evening of performance and celebration of poems grown in-house at the Castle at weekly Sunday Word Space poetry workshops. Live performance from selected artists will take place and a poetry anthology of contributions will be available to buy on the night.
Do you have a film-inspired/themed poem that you’d like to submit for the chance of performing and publication? Extended final deadline is September 1st - Submit here
