Welcome to Camp Classics, where we celebrate the films that queer culture has embraced for their unapologetic camp, iconic performances, and unforgettable style. Each screening dives into the movies that have become queer cultural staples—whether they were made with us in mind or not.
This spooky season we’re screening 1996’s The Craft, directed by Andrew Fleming. Where high school meets high magic, and teen angst gets a supernatural upgrade. This cult classic follows Sarah (Robin Tunney), the new girl in town who falls in with a coven of misfit witches -- played by Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True. What starts as spellcasting for self-empowerment spirals into a dark, intoxicating power trip. Part goth dream, part cautionary tale, The Craft is the bewitching teen flick that launched a thousand alt-girl wardrobes -- and more than a few witchy awakenings.
