Spectres infest an analog world that's rapidly giving way to a digital one in Cure director Kiyoshi Kurosawa's modern horror classic, an apocalyptic, tech-sceptic ghost story on growing disconnection and isolation in the internet age.

Distorted Frame and SciFrights present this Halloween screening of Pulse, a film now routinely ranked amongst the scariest horror movies ever made and whose centrepiece scene of uncanny terror has been described by The AV Club's Scott Tobias as "the signature sequence in all of J-horror".

The film will be introduced by Jasper Sharp, critic, author, filmmaker and independent scholar specialising in Japanese cinema.

Distorted Frame is a digital-focused community film club that presents screenings of films which embrace the unique qualities, flaws and possibilities of digital cinema. SciFrights is a film discussion podcast at the Interzone where horror meets sci-fi.
