Palestine Screenings: Tantura + Q&A

Tantura (by Alon Shwartz, 2022) with a post-screening Q&A.

Featuring accounts by Palestinian survivors, Israeli veterans, and historians, the documentary provides a chilling account of the massacre that Israeli forces committed in the coastal, fishing Palestinian village of Tantura (near Haifa) in 1948, in the newly established state of Israel. The massacre of defenceless Palestinians, whose village already surrendered, left about 200 dead. Those who survived were ethnically cleansed. Tantura was destroyed. Dor and Kibbutz Nahsholim were established on its ruins.

Panellists:
Khaled Dawas: Consultant Surgeon & Associate Professor (UCL), who has been on emergency medical missions to Gaza (Dec 2023, 2024).
Neve Gordon: Professor of International Law & Human Rights (QMUL)
