It's Different For Girls - UK Premiere + Q&A with Director, Billie JD Porter

In Post-Roe America, scientists are on the cusp of a watershed moment in reproductive healthcare - a new, viable birth control method for men. Meet the couples participating in human trials for groundbreaking new contraceptives, and the trailblazing developers on a quest to gain FDA approval without the backing of Big Pharma. Over sixty years since the birth control pill was introduced for women, It's Different For Girls asks whether the hold-up for new alternatives is down to a scientific roadblock, or gender bias and corporate greed.

It's Different For Girls premiered at the HotDocs festival in Toronto, where it was nominated in the Academy Award qualifying category for Best International Short. It has since screened at numerous events in partnership with Planned Parenthood, as well as Hamptons Doc Fest, InScience International Film Festival, Academia Film Olomouc, and has been shortlisted for the Social Impact Media Awards. The film was produced in partnership with the multi award winning studio, Park Pictures.
