STUDIOCANAL PRESENTS invites you to a special Valentine’s Day screening at The Castle Cinema!
Set in a surreal version of Paris, MOOD INDIGO is the stirringly poetic tale of Colin (Romain Duris) and Chloé (Audrey Tautou) whose love story is turned on its head when Chloé falls sick on their honeymoon with unusual symptoms. Dedicated to his beloved bride, Colin must go out to work in a series of increasingly absurd jobs to pay for the fresh flowers that Chloé needs to feel better.
Adapted from Boris Vian's cult 1947 novel L'Écume des jours and imaginatively directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind & Be Kind Rewind), the film had a troubled production and release in France and overseas. Overflowing with detailed DIY effects and exuberant narrative detours, MOOD INDIGO nevertheless remains an unconventionally charismatic and lip-wobblingly poignant paean to love, creativity, and the music of Duke Ellington.
